CROSSEUR of the month
Paul Tellier isn’t gonna retire anytime soon: at 69, he is well known in the financial and political spheres, as well as in legal circles. He became a multi-millionaire thanks to the salaries and bonuses he’s assured himself through his social destruction, anti-union, and public fund squandering performance. Between 1967 and 1992, he’s held several positions in the upper echelon of the federal bureaucracy, such as Cabinet Secretary, i.e. the boss of all bureaucrats. To thank him for his loyalty towards Canada and reward his drive for power, his friend Brian Mulroney named him to the head of Canadian National (CN) in 1992 with a clear mission: to privatize the Crown corporation by all means necessary. That was the perfect opportunity for our good little soldier to elevate himself as an economic leader and to make it into the Major Leagues (of major fuckers). His achievements include firing thousands of workers, busting unions, selling public assets to the private sector at discount prices, and decreasing services. The dirty work being done, our go-getter was then awarded CEO of the year in 1998 and left the CN in 2002 with a $14million bonus in his pocket. During those 10 years, it is to be noted that our champion found the time to be on the
boards of Conference Board of Canada, Alcan, Bell, and McCain. Two years ago, Tellier became CEO of Bombardier and he’s applying the same
blueprint: he has fired thousands of employees, lowered working conditions, and subcontracted many services. Above all, his years of civil service have allowed him to squeeze out billions of dollars in subsidies and interest-free loans from the federal government. Moreover, under the threats of Tellier to relocate a share of the Bombardier production, Jean Lapierre (!) has just recently released $1.5billion. You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours…
Oh!and by the way, our great humanist is also on the board of… “Bon Dieu
dans la rue” (Pops). No comments…
